Trade Codex collects information you provide directly when you create an account, log trades, and use our services. This includes:

  • Account information (name, email address) managed through our authentication provider
  • Trade data you enter (symbols, prices, dates, strategies, tags, notes)
  • Usage data (pages visited, features used, timestamps)
  • Device information (browser type, operating system, IP address)

2. How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Trade Codex service
  • Calculate analytics, reports, and performance metrics for your account
  • Send service-related communications (account updates, security alerts)
  • Respond to your support requests and inquiries
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security issues

We do not sell your personal data or trade information to third parties. Your trade data is used solely to provide the service to you.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely on cloud infrastructure. Trade data and account information are stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon, with encryption at rest and in transit. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

4. Third-Party Services

Trade Codex uses the following third-party services:

  • Clerk — Authentication and user management. Clerk processes your login credentials and profile data per their privacy policy.
  • Neon — Database hosting. Your trade data is stored in Neon's serverless PostgreSQL infrastructure.
  • Vercel — Application hosting and deployment. Vercel may collect basic request logs and analytics.

5. Cookies

Trade Codex uses essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our authentication provider (Clerk) may set additional cookies necessary for secure sign-in functionality.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Export your trade data via the CSV export feature
  • Object to processing of your data for non-essential purposes

7. Data Retention

We retain your account and trade data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will permanently remove your personal data and trade records within 30 days. Some anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics purposes.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
